The Rebel has a defiant streak that resists authority and control; is comfortable standing alone or being perceived as the outcast, is empowered by this position and is not afraid of confrontation.  There is a sense of freedom which can lead to innovation.  The Rebel challenges the rules in order to elicit change and has the potential to be a leader and exudes confidence. The Rebel seems tough on the outside, but has the heart of a hero, a sense of honor, a spirit of reform.

The Rebel may be defiant without cause, just to feel a sense of freedom, has trouble with authority figures, may become agitated or aggressive and is often separated from society or others.  The Rebel is intensely resistant to outside advice or conventional solutions and may despise others’ misconceptions about the Rebel’s personal beliefs or choices.
